SAJE Consulting was founded in 2005 by Pete Dobson and Beth Gorell.  Clients have included Cisco, VMware, VCE, Hitachi, Google, Paypal, HTC, Chevron and Stanford University.

Pete Dobson, President and CEO
An astute, hands-on leader and coach, Pete has over 30 years’ experience in business, holding a wide variety of senior-level and management positions in Europe and Silicon Valley.  Pete co-founded SAJE Consulting in 2005, and has worked with clients such as Google, Paypal, HTC, Cisco, VCE, VMware and Chevron. Prior to SAJE, Pete was with Hewlett-Packard Company for 26 years, holding domestic and international management positions covering sales and marketing, strategic and tactical planning, business development, product management, contract administration and channel programs. Leveraging this varied experience, Pete spent several years working as an internal consultant in HP’s World-Wide Sales Operations group.  

Pete’s areas of expertise include change management, channel development, process improvement, global services and support, sales operations and customer service.

Pete graduated from Kitson College / Leeds University in the UK, studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. He is a certified facilitator in Transition Management from William Bridges & Associates, and has additional training in Management of Change (MOC) from ODR, and Change Management from Prosci.




Beth Gorell, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer

An insightful and articulate collaborator, Beth has held a broad range of senior-level and management positions at Silicon Valley firms since the mid 1980’s.  Beth co-founded SAJE Consulting in 2005, and has worked with clients such as Cisco, VMware, NetApp and Hitachi.  Prior to SAJE, Beth worked at Stanford University as the Senior Business Strategist for the Stanford Alumni Association, and, before that, Beth held positions as Global Director of Marketing for IPS Associates, a privately held project management consulting firm, and Director of Customer Loyalty for ReplayTV, a Silicon Valley start-up that pioneered digital video recording technology.   Beth was with Hewlett-Packard Company for 14 years, during which she held numerous management positions in Marketing and Operations.  

Beth is a certified Prosci Change Management practitioner, and has deep expertise in strategic planning and performance management, organizational assessment
and design, marketing operations, process improvement and customer loyalty.

Beth graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Cum Laude with a BA from the University of Washington, and received an MBA from the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business.  She has additional training from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Harvard Business School Publishing, UC Berkeley Executive Development and Stanford Continuing Education.

Hector Curiel, Senior Consultant
Hector is an experienced technology marketing professional with expertise in the areas of partner channel strategy, programs, web and marketing operations.  He leverages his extensive marketing, alliance, sales, web portal development and operations management experience to execute results-driven strategies and solutions for customers.

Hector's experience includes an extensive career with Hewlett-Packard, spanning regional and worldwide alliance programs, marketing, sales and management positions.  Additionally, he has consulted with growing consumer businesses and at Cisco.

Hector holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration from California State University, Chico.  He has additional marketing and executive leadership training from Dartmouth University and University of California, Los Angeles.




Bette Houtchens, Senior Consultant
Bette is a highly adaptable change management consultant with demonstrated success in leading large organizations through strategic changes to systems and processes.  Experience includes strategic visioning, securing sponsorship, stakeholder engagement, survey metrics, decision analysis, project implementation, business process re-engineering, and performance enhancement.

Bette has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a concentration in Finance from the University of Connecticut, and a Master's degree in Social Psychology with a practical emphasis on Organization Psychology from San Francisco State University.  She holds a certification in "Chevron's Project Deployment and Execution Program for Change," and is certified by CPP in the professional administration and interpretation of the MBTI personality instrument for team building, and leadership and management development.

With deep gratitude for the many people who have mentored her, Bette has had a long-term commitment to family and community service, with particular emphasis on helping charities that serve children.




Peter Lawson, Senior Consultant
Peter has over 20 years of experience in marketing, press relations and marketing communications for consumer, engineering and high-tech markets.  His experience working at Fortune 100 companies, such as Hewlett-Packard and Eastman Kodak, in marketing communications, sales training, business development and product marketing, gives him a unique perspective that results in creative solutions to communications and marketing challenges.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Technical Journalism from Oregon State University and received an Award of Excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators.
